Mariam Maskhulia

Project Coordinator

Mariam Maskhulia holds Master’s degrees in International Relations from Tbilisi State University (2002) and in the Theory and Practice of Human Rights from the University of Essex, UK (2008). Mariam has written and passed with distinction an MA thesis on Poverty, Development and International Assistance and Co-operation. Mariam has passed an internship on child rights protection issues at the Defence for Children - ECPAT the Netherlands. In different periods Mariam took part in the learning programs on “Strengthening the implementation of human rights treaty body recommendations at the national level”, organized by the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. 

Mariam worked at the Public Health Foundation of Georgia in 2003-2007 on the position of office manager and was also coordinating the public relations issues. Since 2011 Mariam is a project management assistant and consultant in human/child rights issues.Mariam currently is performing as a Project Coordinator of the EU funded project “Advocacy for Child and Youth protection. She is participating in the researches, child rights monitoring and results analysis activities, drafting processes of alternative and thematic reports dedicated to the examination of the situation of children affected by violence in Georgia. She has also completed the Pre-Academic Summer Program, Organized by the Open Society Institute on the following courses: “academic writing, human rights and contemporary social studies”; as well as the Benchmarking Blended Learning Seminar / e-Course on the Child Rights Based Programming, organized and provided by Child to Child, UK and Oak Foundation, etc.
