Collaboration towards Combating Child Sexual Abuse

The Public Health Foundation of Georgia is organizing the conference to be held in Tbilisi on December 29, 2014 in the frame of the project “Collaboration towards Combating Child Sexual Abuse”. The project, with EU support, is being implemented since December 2012.

The project aims at establishing of a comprehensive, child-friendly and child-centered child protection system in Georgia, obtaining full and valid information from child victim or witness of any forms of abuse, especially sexual abuse and building the capacity of child professionals. The project also encourages the advancement of the coordinated collaboration between state and non-state actors, so that children, who are the victims or witnesses of abuse, especially of sexual abuse and sexual exploitation, get the final benefit. The Public Health Foundation is running this project since December 2012.

The focus of the event is to share and present experience and results of the project. The conference also aims at further improvement of the child protection system by means of involvement of child protection professionals. The guideline – “Tell Me What Happened”, developed in the frame of the project, will be presented at the conference.

Project partners from the following Ministries and Agencies are invited to the workshop: Prosecutor’s Office, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Training Centre of Justice, Georgian BAR Association, Legal Aid Service, Police Academy and the Social Service Agency.


Conference date and time: December 29, 2014 from 11:00 am. to 14:00 pm.
Closing dinner will be held at the end of the Conference after which a workshop will be delivered with participation of representatives from law enforcement agencies and Social Service Agency from 14:30pm to 16:30 pm.
