Memorandum of Cooperation in the frame the project “Advocacy for Child and Youth Protection

       In the frame of the EU funded project “Advocacy for Child and Youth Protection”, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed on March 21, 2017 between Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU), Public Health Foundation of Georgia and Union “Step Forward”.

 

       The memorandum is dedicated to the establishment of the “Batumi Child and Youth Advocacy Center”, which will be functioning at the premises of the Psychological Clinic of the BSU and coordinated by the Step Forward. Batumi Child and youth Advocacy Centre aims at supporting children and youth, victims of domestic and sexual abuse in Adjara region. A series of seminars, workshops, conferences and awareness raising campaigns will be organized to support prevention of abuse against children and youth and make timely identification of the cases.

 

      Similar Child and Youth Advocacy Centres are functioning in Zugdidi and Tbilisi within the project “Advocacy for Child and Youth Protection”. A child helpline with number 116 111 is active in the frame of the project and it serves children, youth, their parents, child professionals, also  any individual who wishes to talk on child related problems.

 

      The project “Advocacy for Child and Youth Protection” is implemented by the Public Health Foundation of Georgia. Rehabilitation and Development Charity Centre Tanaziari, “Step Forward” and International Child Catholic Bureau (BICE) are project co-applicants, while Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Child Helpline International perform as project Associate partners.
