REGIONAL CONSULTATION ON ENDING THE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION OF CHILDREN (SEC) FOR EASTERN EUROPE AND CENTRAL ASIA

The Public Health Foundation of Georgia, as a member of ECPAT International network, together with other 30 ECPAT network members from East Europe and Central Asia, had the opportunity to participate in the regional consultation workshop held on May 15-16, 2019 in Vienna, Austria. The workshop was organized by ECPAT International. The Public Health Foundation of Georgia is a member of ECPAT network since 2014.
The aim of the regional consolation was to enhance the capacity of network member organizations as well as to strengthen the network.

Participants of the regional consultation, had the opportunity to discuss such an important themes as the “Terminology Guidelines for the Protection of Children from Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse”, also known as the Luxemburg Guideline (http://luxembourgguidelines.org/). These Terminology Guidelines are a set of orientations that can be used as a tool to enhance protection of children against sexual violence.

The meeting participants also were introduced to ECPAT International’s Regional Advocacy Strategy; had the opportunity to listen to an interesting presentation on Sexual exploitation of children in travel and tourism, participate in an interactive networking sessions and develop outlines of common initiatives (projects); discuss and hear interesting ting fundraising possibilities.
