Project Duration: July 2018 – July 2020 Project Purpose: To strengthen the child abuse prevention and response capacity of the primary healthcare system in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

Objective 1 - To increase the capacity of the medical doctors to prevent and respond to violence against children, esp. sexual abuse

Objective 2 - To strengthen the multi-disciplinary collaboration in cases of child abuse by building the understanding of the doctors of their responsibilities and encourage their proactiveness in such cases.

Anticipate outcome: The project will increase doctors’ knowledge and skills to identify and respond to child abuse cases, including sexual abuse. It aims to increase the understanding of healthcare professionals around multidisciplinary collaboration. In addition, through this project, the Public Health Foundation of Georgia plans to strengthen its organisational capacities to be more sustainable.
