Project goal:
To support the development of the rule of law in Georgia by improving the implementation of children’s rights in the child protection and justice systems to ensure that children in conflict with the law are better protected.
Objectives:
(1) Safeguarding the rights of children in conflict with the law on paper through a comprehensive policy, legal provisions and/or working protocols;
(2) Capacity building of professionals who work with children in conflict with the law or at risk of engagement in delinquent behaviour, in alignment with children’s rights standards; and
(3) The exchange of knowledge through strengthened bilateral relations between governmental institutions in the Netherlands and Georgia
Anticipated results:
• The rights of children in conflict with the law are better protected by (secondary) legislation, policy and/or working protocols;
• Professionals working directly with children in conflict with the law have the capacity to protect the rights of children in conflict with the law, in alignment with international and European children’s rights standards
