In the framework of the EU-funded project “Promotion of Human Right to Health of the conflict affected populations in Georgia”, training for the Health Care Workers of the Zugdidi and Kutaisi IDP policlinics was held on October 7, 2020.
The training aimed to build capacity of health care workers (HCWs) in Zugdidi and Kutaisi IDP policlinics by increasing awareness about the COVID -19 (SARS-COV-2) outbreak, methods of detection, prevention and treatment and rights to access to Covid-19 free services in Georgia.
Through the training participants received information and raised knowledge on the following issues: (a) Covid -19 (SARS-COV-2), symptoms, early detection, types of testing, treatment prevention methods in Georgia; (b) mechanisms and benefits of the state-sponsored healthcare services related to Covid -19, in particular:
- ● What recent methods are used to diagnose and treat Covid -19 (SARS-COV-2)infections in Georgia and over the world
- ● What are Covid -19 related main challenges in the region
- ● Free, cost-reduced and affordable healthcare services
- ● The right of the IDP patients to receive appropriate free services in case of Covid-19 infection
