Supporting the Development of Child Protection Mechanism at Local Government Level

On September 27th the Child Welfare League held a concluding meeting in the frame of the EU-funded project “Supporting the Development of Child Protection Mechanism at the Local Government Level”. The workshop aimed to introduce to the workshop audience the experience gained by implementing the project, its results and perspectives.

         The objective of the project “Supporting the Development of Child Protection Mechanism at the Local Government Level” was an early identification of child abuse cases and development of an appropriate response mechanism through engagement of local governments and their capacity building.

CPL implemented the project in the framework of small grant program of the EU-funded project “Advocacy for Child and Youth Protection", which in Tbilisi, Batumi and Zugdidi is implemented by the Public Health Foundation of Georgia with partner organizations – “Step Forward” and “Tanaziari”. Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Child Helpline International are associate partners of the project. 

 

The concluding workshop brought together Tbilisi local governments’ representatives, decision-makers from relevant government agencies and donor organizations.
