Training for medical doctors: "Child Abuse – identification and response"

The Public Health Foundation of Georgia in cooperation with the Georgian Pediatrics Association on March 20 and 27 and on April 3, 2021 organized the accredited training course for pediatricians and family doctors. Training participants were awarded with the 18 points in the framework of the Continued Medical Education Program.

Through the training, participants gained knowledge on such important issues as: (1) Identification of child abuse cases - clinical picture, diagnosis and differential diagnosis; (2) Child Abuse Classifiers; (3) Response measures - responsibilities and obligations defined by the Child Protection Referral Procedures (Government Resolution # 437 of 12 September 2016); (4) Prevention of child abuse; (5) standard operating procedures (SOP) for the protection of children from abuse and neglect; (6) Rules on using the form on documenting child abuse / sexual abuse, etc.

The training was prepared and conducted in the framework of the OAK Foundation supported project " Stop child abuse - Strengthening prevention and response capacity of the primary healthcare".
